Earthel LaGreen started his first retail business in downtown Detroit, Michigan as LaGreen's Records and Tapes in 1969.
He remained in the retail music business with 3 locations in downtown Detroit until record and tape sales began to wane in 1987.
In 1987, he shifted from retail sales to distribution, selling cassettes to gas stations and party stores in Detroit and Chicago with a staff of 50 employees.
Again, the music business began to flounder and he transitioned to replacing damaged or rusted out metal mailboxes and began installing polyurethane mailboxes.
In 2003, he decided to move and relocate his business to Murfreesboro, TN where the weather was warmer.
After arriving in Murfreesboro, he thought that he could continue installing polyurethane mailboxes only to find out that the residents in Tennessee are fond of brick mailboxes.
Without ever having had any exposure to mortar and concrete, he became self taught in the masonry business and then began to add on other masonry services and successfully built his first project, a brick mailbox, in 2003.
LaGreen's Masonry Company is owned by Earthel and June and located in the city of Murfreesboro, TN.
Earthel and June LaGreen started the business shortly after moving to Tennessee from Michigan.
The business has been operating in Murfreesboro for 17 years.
Over the last 17 years, LaGreen's Masonry Company has built hundreds of brick mailboxes and has thousands of highly satisfied customers.
One of the most frequently asked questions is: “Will you match the brick and mortar to my house.?” The answer is yes.
Starting soon, all brick mailboxes will be built indoor under careful supervision and delivered to customer’s homes and attached to a pre-poured concrete pad.
